Day 1: BANGKOK—CHIANG MAI—CHIANG RAI—CHIANG SAEN

Stop At: Mae Khachan Hot Spring, Mae Chedi Mai, Wiang Pa Pao 57260 Thailand
Arrive Chiang Mai Airport. Drive to Chiang Rai, on the way short stop at Mae Kajan Hot spring .
Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Wat Rong Khun, Lahaul-Spiti Pa O Don Chai Subdistrict, Chiang Rai 57000 Thailand
Wat Rong Khun, the temple is well known for its decorations with white tone decorated reflected mirrors.
Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Chiang Saen, Chiang Rai Thailand
Continue to Chiang Saen, former capital of the first Thai Kingdom, situated directly on Mekong River at border between Thailand and Laos. Visit Wat Phra Dhat Jom Kitti by climbing 383 steps to top of hill. Also visit Wat Chedi Luang and small museum nearby.

Pass By: Golden Triangle, Sob Ruak Village, Chiang Saen 57150 Thailand
Continue by longtail speedboat upriver on the Mekong toward Golden Triangle where borders of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos meet.

Day 2: CHIANG SAEN—DOI MAE SALONG—MAE SAI—CHIANG RAI

Stop At: Mae Sai District Office, Wiang Phang Kham, Mae Sai District, Chiang Rai 57130, Thailand
Depart from Chiang Saen to Mae Sai, the northernmost Thai town on the Myanmar border. Walk around the local market with plenty of shopping opportunities. Proceed with a visit to the Fish and Monkey Cave.

Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes

Stop At: Doi Mae Salong, Chiang Rai Thailand
Then continue the trip to Doi Mae Salong, passing through beautiful mountain scenery. Mae Salong lays 1800 meters above the sea level and is famous for its tea plantations. There are Chinese temples, ethnic tribes living in the area, and plenty of open air bazaars offering Chinese specialties such as tea and locally grown preserved fruits.

Stop At: Baan Dam Museum, 414 Moo 13, Chiang Rai 57100 Thailand
After lunch, drive to Chiang Rai where you visit the Black House (Baan Dam). This impressive structure is the unique creation of national artist, Thawan Duchanee. Part art studio, part museum, part home, Baan Dam is an eclectic mix of traditional northern Thai buildings interspersed with some outlandish modern designs.

Day 3: CHIANG RAI—THATORN—HMONG HILLTRIBE LODGE

Pass By: Union Hilltribe Villages, 262 Moo 6 Ban Paoo Nanglae, Chiang Rai 57100 Thailand
Leave hotel for boat landing. Board simple longtail motorboats for three-hour journey up Kok River, passing tiny hilltribe villages, bamboo huts and jungle scenery.

Stop At: Wat Tha Ton (Phra Aram Luang), Tha Ton, Mae Ai District, Chiang Mai 50280, Thailand
After lunch, visit Wat Thatorn, a large temple complex in a very attractive setting only a few kilometers from the border with neighboring Myanmar. The temple is located on top of a hill overlooking the village of Ban Thaton and the Mae Kok River.

Day 4: HMONG HILLTRIBE LODGE—CHIANG MAI

Stop At: Elephant POOPOOPAPER Park Chiang Mai, 87 Moo. 10, T. Maeram, A. Mae Rim, Chiang Mai, อำเภอแม่ริม เชียงใหม่ 50180, Thailand
Drive to Elephant POOPOO PAPER Park. An eco-friendly, naturally built outdoor museum park that introduces and explains the unique steps involved in making paper products from elephant poop fibers.

Stop At: The Dara Pirom Palace, Dara Rasamee Border Patrol Police Camp Rim Tai Subdistrict, Mae Rim Thailand
continue to The Dara Pirom Palace Museum (closed on Monday). An elegant house of the late Princess Jao Dara Rasamee, one of the princess consorts of King Rama V, transformed into the museum full of exhibits showing the palace décor as well as Chiang Mai’s rich culture and history at the time of her life.

Day 5: CHIANG MAI—BANGKOK

Stop At: Chiang mai, Pa Daet Sub-district, Mueang Chiang Mai District, Chiang Mai 50100, Thailand
Visit the most interesting temples in Chiang Mai, like Wat Phra Singh with its famous Buddha image, Wat Chiang Man, oldest temple in Chiang Mai and built by King Mangrai, and Wat Suan Dok, housing remains of many generations of the old Chiang Mai Royal Family. Also visit Wat Doi Suthep, tucked away in the mountains at 1,056 meters above sea level.

  • This tour is operated both on private basis as well as on joint / Seat-In-Coach basis.
  • Joint tours are operated with an English-speaking guide only. Depending on the number of guests on any confirmed tours, the correct type of car / mini-van/coach cannot be confirmed upon reservation. This also depends on the availability of accommodation.
  • Transfers are only operated within the downtown Bangkok areas and restricted to main hotels only. Regions outside the central business district such as Khao San Road, Rattanakosin, Nonthaburi, Thonburi, Minburi, both International Airports, Ratchadapisek and upper Sukhumvit (Soi 55 and further) are excluded and supplementary charges apply.
  • We regret that are unable to provide pick-up and drop-off transfer services from and to apartment complexes, local guest houses or private apartments. We advise you kindly to head on your own arrangement to the nearest hotel inside the downtown Bangkok area.
  • Should you have booked a joint / Seat-In-Coach excursion, we are unable to communicate with you with accurate participation numbers, as these may change until the very last moment.
  • We will do all possible to comply with any dietary requirements during this excursion; it may not always be possible to confirm your wishes in advance based on the choice of local restaurant.
  • Check-in and check-out times are regulated by each individual hotel and in general (exceptions are available for which we cannot be held accountable), check-in time at hotels are not before 14:00 hrs as check-out times are before 12:00 hrs.
  • The accommodation used during this tour at the Hmong is simple accommodation with basic amenities. This may include no air-conditioning (fan only), lack of Wi-Fi and/or warm water. Due to the location of our overnight address and aligned with the concept of this soft-adventure experience.
  • This excursion includes obstacles of various kinds that may not make this excursion suitable for wheelchair users. The obstacles comprise of unpaved roads, small boats and cruise embarkation and disembarkation and insufficient facilities to provide a comfortable sightseeing tour.
  • Guests are advised that some walking is required during this excursion; we always ensure that we take the most comfortable ways from the entrance of the sight to the sight itself.
  • During this tour, we will enter religious sites where a dress code may be applicable. Please dress respectfully by wearing clothing that cover the knees and shoulders, avoid wearing clothing with bright, fluorescent colours of any kind, obscene prints or pictures, beach wear or strapless sandals / flip flops. Failure to comply may result in denying access into these sites.
  • We always will make efforts to confirm the exact pick-up time upon reservation. For any operational issues in which are not able to confirm the exact pick-up time in advance, we reserve the right to inform you the day before the departure of the tour.
  • Sand and water have a destructive effect on electronic equipment. It the customer’s own responsibility to ensure that any camera, mobile telephone or other device is properly wrapped and protected against these elements. We cannot be held responsible in any way for negligence and/or not following suggestions for any damage related to this.
  • Please ensure that you bring sunglasses, a hat /cap and sunblock with a high SPF factor when traveling with us on this tour – even when it is cloudy, the sunrays still have an immense power.
  • We reserve the right to make necessary changes to the excursion in case of unfavourable weather conditions or situations where we are forced to make alterations to guarantee the safety of our guests.
  • It is the responsibility of the customer to provide us with the correct flight information, should pick-up and drop-off services be included in the package. Any changes in flight numbers outside 48 hours will be handled accordingly: changes within 48 hours may be on request.
  • We highly recommend using the following flight numbers for this tour: TG 102 (Bangkok – Chiang Mai) and TG 111 (Chiang Mai – Bangkok).
  • Some museums and centres may be closed on Mondays; we reserve the right to offer alternative sightseeing options on these days.
