About this activity

See the REAL Bangkok that most visitors do not see. By bike, you will explore the narrow alleyways, markets, and backstreets of Chinatown as well as the charming local areas of Thonburi.

Starting in the heart of Chinatown, your bike ride explores its frenetic market environment. Winding through narrow alleyways, your senses come alive with the sights, sounds, and smells of a community in motion. You’ll pass by shophouses selling everything from Buddhist amulets to recycled truck engines. Locals worshiping at hidden temples, ritual paper burnings, and the omnipresent spirit house display evidence of a culture centuries in the making.

Crossing the Chao Phraya River, also known as 'The River of Kings', the city's skyline will be behind you as you enter Thonburi, the historic third capital of Thailand. Contrasting chaotic Chinatown, peaceful elements of local Thai life abound as you cycle through diverse residential communities. Inquisitive smiles and friendly greetings reinforce the feeling we have truly left the “beaten path” and are now experiencing the REAL Bangkok. The tour will finish at the same place from which you began.

But your day is not over, as you you can continue to explore Bangkok from the double decker bus with Siam Hop-On Hop-Off along 'The Heritage Route'. Highlights along this route include many of Bangkok's fascinating historical places. Colonial style buildings are a significant part of the landscape in this area. First settled on the east side of the mighty river, this is where the Royal Grand Palace and The Emerald Buddha Temple can be found. Many other famous temples, including The Golden Buddha, The Reclining Buddha, The Giant Swing, The Metal Castel and The Marble Temple are along here, not to mention the many other interesting places you can stop and visit with your Siam Hop Pass.

After you start 'hopping' at River City, the route will continue to Hua Lamphong, China Town, the Flower Market, Museum Siam, Tiger God Shrine, Grand Palace, National Museum, Tah Pra Arthit, Khao San, Giant Swing, Wat Ratchanadda, Wat Benjamabophit, King Power and will finish at MBK, one of Bangkok's favorite shopping malls.
