Stop At: Erawan Shrine (Thao Mahaprom Shrine), 494 Ratchadamri Road Lumphini, Pathum Wan, Bangkok 10330 Thailand

The Erawan Shrine (Thao Mahaprom Shrine) is a major landmark in the centre of the Thai capital. Every day, thousands of people visit the shrine which houses a golden statue of Phra Phrom, the four-faced Thai representation of the Hindu god of creation, Brahma.

Garlands, burning incense and music surround the shrine as the crowds come to pay their respects to the statue.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Khlong Saen Saep Boat Service, Khlong Saen Saeb, Bangkok Thailand

From the Erawan Shrine we continue by foot to the Khlong Saen Saep boat pier. Traveling along Khlong (canal) Saen Saep offers an easy way of cutting across Bangkok without getting stuck in its horrendous traffic and it also offers a glimpse into traditional life along the canal.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Wat Ratchanatdaram Woravihara (Loha Prasat), Maha Chai Road Bowon Niwet, Phra Nakhon, Bangkok Thailand

When we get off the boat we continue walking and pass Mahakan Fort, one of two surviving citadels that defended the old walled city. After a few minutes we reach Wat Ratchanatdaram and Loha Prasat (Metal Castle), a unique structure in the Thai capital.

Our tuk-tuks will be waiting here and we continue our exploration of the Thai capital with this three-wheeled motorized vehicle.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Phra Sumen Fort, Phra Athit Rd, Khwaeng Chana Songkhram, Khet Phra Nakhon, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10200, Thailand

Another short stop is made at Phra Sumen, the other surviving citadel in the Thai capital, before reaching the Giant Swing.

Duration: 3 minutes

Stop At: Giant Swing, Bamrung Muang Rd, Bangkok 10200 Thailand

If you want to show a photo of Bangkok’s landmark to your friends or family, the Giant Swing or Sao Chingcha is one of the best choices! It is located at the heart of Bangkok and in front of the first rank royal temple, Wat Suthat.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: The Grand Palace, Na Phra Lan Rd, Maharaj Pier next to Wat Phra Kaeo Temple Complex, Bangkok Thailand

We pass the beautifully lit up Grand Palace and make a photo stop at the road side.

The palace has been the official residence of the Kings of Siam since 1782. The king, his court and his royal government were based on the grounds of the palace until 1925. The palace will be closed already at this time, but of course the guide can give you information about the palace and the Thai Royal family.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Wat Pho Thai Traditional Massage School, 2 Sanamchai Road Wat Po, Tatian, Bangkok 10200 Thailand

Our next stop is the famous Wat Pho (or Wat Phra Chetuphon), crowded during day time but quiet and even more magical at night. It is one of the largest temple complexes in Bangkok and also boasts the largest collection of Buddha images in Thailand. Wat Pho maintains the title as the country’s earliest center for public education, specializing in religion, science and literature. Most of the Buddha images on display were brought to Wat Pho, by order of King Rama I, from abandoned temples in Ayutthaya and Sukhothai.

Many associate Wat Pho with traditional Thai massage and they are correct to do so because the temple compound is also the national headquarters for the teaching and preservation of traditional Thai medicine, including Thai massage, a mandate legislated by Rama III when the tradition was in danger of extinction.

Stroll around this beautiful temple compound while listening to the stories of your guide.

Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: Chinatown - Bangkok, Yaowarat Road Samphanthawong, Samphanthawong, Bangkok 10100 Thailand

Guess we are all hungry now, so it’s time for some food!

Bangkok's Chinatown is one of the largest Chinatowns in the world and one of the most authentic and unchanged spots in the city.

Bustling Yaowarat Road in the center of Chinatown becomes a culinary hotspot at night, with restaurants spilling off the footpaths onto the street itself. The bright neon lights, red Chinese lanterns, and huge crowds that come here to eat, drink, and wander make Chinatown very lively, and the atmosphere at night is far different than during the day.

Our tuk-tuk will drop us here and we continue by foot.

Walking around you can find all kinds of food, from satay, pad thai, chicken in different variations, fried rice, noodles and different soups, crispy duck and curries of all kinds. Of course we will try some, accompanied by a refreshing beer or fruit juice.

Your tour ends at Chinatown from where you can make your own way back to your hotel or ask your guide for recommendations for the rest of the evening.
