The Chao Phraya River today remains the most important waterway for the people of central Thailand. The river is an important transport link for the shipping of teak and rice to Bangkok. Locals have made the banks their homes since ancient times and created their livelihoods from their environment.
Pass By: Phra Pin-klao Bridge, Bangkok Noi, Bangkok Thailand
The bridge is named after Pinklao, vice-king of Siam, 1851-1866. In the project phase, the bridge was referred to as the Tha Chang Wang Na Bridge .( In June 1973, it was renamed the Somdej Phra Pinklao Bridge in honour of Prince Pinklao.
Pass By: Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun), 34 Wang Doem Road Wat Arun, Bang Kok Yai, Bangkok 10600 Thailand
Wat Arun was envisioned by King Taksin in 1768. It is believed that after fighting his way out of Ayutthaya, which was taken over by a Burmese army at the time, he arrived at this temple just as dawn was breaking. He later had the temple renovated and renamed it Wat Chaeng, the Temple of the Dawn.

The palace's construction began in 1782. King Rama I was in power at the time, and the palace was not considered to be complete until the late 1800s. King Rama I was the founder of the Chakri Dynasty, and he believed that it also deserved a new royal palace, which is why construction initially began.
