About this activity
Your guide will pick you up at hotel in city center in the early morning around 06.30 and you will be transferred by private transportation (1.5 hours’drive) to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market where is the most famous floating market in Thailand. Try to see the vibe of the world's uncommon market.

At the floating market, you can take boat into the market. Then we will leave Damnoen Saduak Floating Market to Photharam area where we can visit to Wat Khanon.

Wat Khanon is a temple that is well known for "Nang Yai" or Shadow Puppet show (UNESCO Award). We will visit the temple and walk around the local Museum.

(If you are coming during weekend, there is availability to see the Shadow Puppet Show as well)

Lunch will be served at local restaurant.

Back to your hotel around 2 PM.

 

 Activities and Experiences:
• Damnoen Saduak Floating Market: Out from Bangkok, there is a floating market that becomes one of the Thailand’s most famous attractions, Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. Check out there early morning and take a ride on a row boat to get the real sense of floating market.
• Shadow Puppet Performance (Nang Yai): The grand shadow play (Nang Yai) was regarded as a form of high class entertainment in former times, being a combination of several art forms: artistic pattern designs, handicraft art in making meticulous shadow figures, theatrical art, oratory art of composing narration and chorus, and orchestral music to complement all the tactile senses. (Note: Thai Shadow Puppet show is perform only on Saturday and Sunday)
• Nang Yai Wat Khanon National Museum: Nang Yai Wat Khanon National Museum is situated in a Thai traditional house and preserves the entire set of 313 shadow figures in their complete condition. Most of the figures represent characters from many episodes in the epic story of Ramayana. Responsible Tour:


This program will be a part that could be generated community development fund to ensure that every travelers' spending goes to support local people to preserve canal way of life at the most famous floating market in Thailand and supporting to Wat Khanon for Nang Yai (Shadow Puppet) conservation. There is one of the six model communities awarded by the Asia Pacific Cultural Centre for UNESCO for its active role in preserving an intangible cultural heritage.
