Private
About this activity
8.30am Pick up at your hotel in Bangkok downtown. Your tour is private, not a join tour! (Extra charge if pick up in Bangkok suburb.)
9.00am Arrive at the floating market. You will enjoy a local boat ride to see quaint scenery of the floating market. You will see a number of water merchants selling their locally grown fruits. You will observe the Thai-style water trade (using a long stick to deliver the goods across boats). You will see how a floating wooden pier is used (to tie a boat and do water-related activities).
9.30am Visit a Gluay Mhai (Thai Orchid) farm which plants colorful orchids of numerous species. Thai Orchids are large and beautiful since Thailand has soil and climate suitable for orchid’s growth. Orchid is known as “the king of fragrant plant” since it was associated with the elegance of Thai nobility in 100 years ago. You will learn how Thai orchids are planted, grown, fertilized, selected, cut, and packed before selling to markets. After that, we take a boat ride back to the floating market.
10.00pm Start our painting workshop instructed by Thai artists. You will paint on a canvas tote bag. You can choose a ready-to-paint drawing or you can draw a new one! Painting supplies such as painting color, brushes, palettes, and easel will be provided. After finishing your painting, you will blow-dry your canvas tote bag so that you can take it back home conveniently.
11.00am You will walk in the foodie market. Your guide will tell you the delightful story on the locally-made Thai edibles such as Som Tam Pu (papaya salad with salted crab), Tod Mun (red fried fish cake), Ho Mok (steamed fish with curry paste), Pla Pao (grilled fish with assorted herb), fresh seafoods with green chilli dip, Nam Prik (Thai-style chilli paste), Ka Nom Buang (Thai crepe), Luk Chup (molded sweeten green bean), aromatic coconut water, coconut nectar, and healthy Thai herbal drinks.
11.30pm an authentic Thai-taste lunch of your choice (pls pay what you order). Most Thai foods go well with aromatic coconut water and coconut icecream. Don’t miss them!
12.30pm End of our tour. We will leave the floating market, return to Bangkok, and drop you off at your hotel around 1.00pm.
