Floating markets have become synonymous with Thailand: with a cornucopia of waterways in and around Bangkok, the traditions of what once was the centre of all household commerce and trade slowly moved away to a few, well-known spots. Unlike the word-famous Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, a few communities still keep the art of aquatic trading alive, with locals from in and around the community continuously supporting this almost extinct means of commerce. It is here where we come in: small, non-touristic and weekend only floating markets within the greater Bangkok metropolis still flourish and it is then that bicycles are by far the best means for a Saturday or Sunday pedalling trip with us to witness the true meaning of floating markets.

A joint transfer from hotel to the central meeting point where the bicycles are waiting is included (transfers services on this tour are limited to downtown Bangkok areas only); the driver will be ready, waiting for you and your travel companions to make your way into the car / minivan and off to meet your English-speaking biking guide. Getting properly fitted on your bike may take some time but it will be done for your comfort as you make your way through the Klongs and local communities to meet time-honoured floating market traditions. The adventure includes boat crossings from one side of the waterway to the other in order to get to real authentic floating markets. Void of mass tourism, opening only during the weekends and combined with a fun-filled bike ride, venture along Bangkok’s extensive Klong (canal) network to see three different floating markets, each having its own characteristics. From the charming Wat Saphan Floating Market to the thriving ones at Klong Lad Mayom and the more famous Taling Chan Floating Market, your memories of floating markets are cherished forever. It is at these places where you still meet the Bangkok traditions of yesteryear alive and kicking.

Lunch is included at a local restaurant (food only) before we make our way back to the central meeting point where your driver who will bring you back to your hotel in downtown Bangkok only.

Customers booking this leisurely bicycle tour may expect some light hills, unequal terrain and/or some bike carrying along the way. A minimal degree of fitness may be needed to enjoy this excursion to the fullest.
We always will make efforts to confirm the exact pick-up time upon reservation. For any operational issues in which are not able to confirm the exact pick-up time in advance, we reserve the right to inform you the day before the departure of the tour.
Please ensure that you bring sunglasses, a hat /cap and sunblock with a high SPF factor when traveling with us on this tour – even when it is cloudy, the sunrays still have an immense power.
It is the responsibility of the customer to provide us with the correct hotel information, should pick-up and drop-off services be included in the package. Any changes in accommodation outside 48 hours will be handled accordingly: changes within 48 hours may be on request.
