Maeklong Railway Market and Biking in the Village

Pick up at the hotel at 08.00 AM. and lead to Mahachai city where is the seafood gateway by private vehicle (1 hour drive) where you will start the journey by local train to Maeklong market or Rom Hoop market (1 hour on train). Maeklong market is located right on the tracks of an active railway line. All the vendors will quickly fold away their umbrellas and remove their containers and goods placed close to the tracks when the train arriving and they will restore the market when the train has passed.

(NOTE: Train departs from Ban Laem station (Mahachai) at 10:10am and arrive Maeklong station at 11:10am.)

Lunch at local restaurant.

In the afternoon, we will visit to Baan Bang Phlap Village. Enjoining a quintessential Thai experience in peaceful, comfortable, homestay. You can explore the surrounding orchards by bicycle. You can enjoy fresh fruits and fresh air, learn how to plant organic fruits, produce organic fertilizer and ferment sweet fruits. There will be a few learning stations to visit local house and meet people who have local wisdom such as Re-alive Fruits or Dried Fruits Tasting house, Charcoal making house and Thai Kite Making House.

Afterwards, you will be lead back and arrive to your hotel in Bangkok around 05.00PM.

 Activities and Experiences:
• Mae Klong Railway Market (Rom Hoop Market): The market is called ‘life-risking’ market because its stalls are attached to the railway, vendors at the market put out parasols or canvas to protect themselves against the sun. The shelters stick into the railway where visitors walk and do their shopping. When each signal of the arriving train rings, chaos happens: vendors will rush to close their parasols and canvas, along with clearing all goods that will obstruct the coming train at a great speed. Once the train passes, parasols and canvas will be reopened as goods are again put into their usual place next to the railroad.
• Bang Phlap Community: You will explore the surrounding village by bicycle to enjoy fresh fruits and fresh air, learn how to plant organic fruits, produce ferment sweet fruits, fruit charcoals and visit the Thai kite maker’s house. Responsible Tour:

This program will support Baan Bang Phlap community where is a role model of conservative agriculture in Samut Songkram Province. This place supports using organic fertilizer instead of chemical one. the community wishs to share thier knowledge to local people and travellers. To achieve this goal, the villagers have established their own organisation to manage community-based, eco and agro- tourism, and to welcome visitors who wish to explore local ways of life.
