About this activity
Start your 3.5-hour morning tour with pickup from your hotel in Bangkok and set off with your guide on a walking tour of royal and religious monuments. Your first stop is Wat Ratchanatdaram, a Buddhist temple popular for its multi-tiered brazen palace, or Loha Prasat, one of just several bronze-roofed palaces in existence.
A short walk brings you to the Golden Mount, which is located in the compound of Wat Saket. Built by King Rama IV, this golden chedi is reached by a 344-step spiral stairway. While on top, you'll have a wide view of the older part of Bangkok.
Next up is Baan Bat, the last of a series of villages established in the 18th century by King Rama I to create alms bowls for monks. After a look around, your guide accompanies you to the Giant Swing (Sao Ching Cha) that stands outside of Wat Suthat, among Thailand's most significant royal temples.
Take a break for morning tea, coffee, or a soft drink, then visit the Tiger God Shrine (Chao Phor Seua), which is dedicated to the spirit of a tiger that once inhabited the surrounding jungle. Learn about the festivals, operas, and puppet shows held here year-round. After a stroll to Ratchadamnoen Klang Road you're transferred back to your hotel.
