We dock our longtail boat and go biking in Bang Krajao, in Samut Prakan province. If you pop open Google Maps, you’ll see what we mean by “Green Lung” as this island of green is surrounded by the urban jungle of Bangkok on the opposite bank of the Chao Phraya. You‘ll immediately get a feeling for what the provinces of Bangkok are like instead of the concrete jungle of Thailand’s big cities. For a brief moment, you’ll enjoy a break and ride around the tranquil and tropical surroundings that are one of the most popular getaways for Bangkokians. We’ll take our time to enjoy the ride and follow some tropical jungle trails and visit some interesting sites.

Stop At: Khlong Toei Market, 1 Kasem Rat Rd, Khwaeng Khlong Toei, Khet Khlong Toei, Krung Thep Maha Nakhon 10110, Thailand

We'll cross from Bang Krajao by longtail boat back into Bangkok proper and ride our bikes to Khlong Toei, an urban low-income area in Bangkok, where you’ll get to experience how the locals live along the canals. We’ll experience how locals in this area live as we follow backstreets and canals to descend on the Khlong Toei wet market. This bustling local gem is Thailand’s biggest fresh food market, with hundreds of stalls selling everything from raw meat, vegetables, fruit and seafood that have been brought here from the nearby fishing port. Prepare yourself for a real Thai market where the locals flock for the best bargain and most hard-to-find ingredients and dishes.
