The tour was amazing, so much history to be absorbed and reflected upon. It is a very long day but the transport was excellent. Our guide was a wealth of information, but unfortunately we could barely understand him, his English was not clear at all, in saying that he was a lovely man and very helpful in any way necessary. His compassion regarding the history was very evident. We had a great day, with excellent food for lunch and came away feeling very humbled.

We had a personal reason for completing this trip as We have a relative buried at Kanchanburi. It is quite a long trip with the traffic getting out and then back into Bangkok but worth doing. The bridge is interesting to see but Hellfire pass was very emotional and sobering when you saw what the POWs had deal with. The cemetery is beautifully tended and visiting uncle Eddie's grave was something we always wanted to do. It is a credit to the CWGC! Our guude, Joe, looked after us with efficiency; thank you.The train ride was fun and took you out to sections of the original line. Yummy Thai lunch included in very clean restaurant.
