Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Pass By: Sampeng Market, Samphanthawong, Bangkok 10400 Thailand

Sampeng Lane Market pretty much sums up the whole shopping experience of Chinatown – and, to some extent, the surrounding Old City area become overly congested with vendors selling everything from fabrics, cheap clothes and electronics. As well as the steady flow of pedestrian traffic, pushcarts, worn-out vespers and the occasional truck overflowing with fresh produce all add to the madness.

Stop At: Luang Kocha Itsahak Mosque, 979, Song Wat Road Samphanthawong, Samphanthawong, Bangkok 10100 Thailand

the Luang Kocha Itsahak Mosque was constructed around 1895, and exhibits in its architecture what was the trend of the time—looking like an Italian building. The mosque, the only one in the Sampheng area, reminds one of a charming Palladian style villa from Northern Italy. It was originally built by a Siamese government official with Malay roots, and it became the main mosque for the numerous Malay and Indian Muslim traders working in the warehouses and the trade companies along the Chao Phraya River. In the back of the mosque there is a small Muslim cemetery looking like a wild, almost abandoned garden where you’ll find simple headstones shaded by numerous trees. With its greenery and numerous singing birds, visitors might find it hard to believe they’re in one of Bangkok’s busiest city districts.

Stop At: Sol Heng Tai, 282 Soi Duangtawan Talat Noi, Samphanthawong, Bangkok 10100 Thailand

The So Heng Tai Mansion is a nineteenth-century Chinese courtyard house in the historic neighbourhood of Talat Noi in Bangkok. It was built by Phra Aphaiwanit (Chat, of the So clan, 1813–1849), a Hokkien Chinese bird's nest tax farmer who joined the nobility under King Rama III. The house has continuously been inhabited by his descendants, who now form the Poshyachinda family. It is one of the last remaining traditional Chinese houses in Bangkok. Today, it also operates as a diving school, a pool having been built in the courtyard in 2004. The house has at times been opened to the public, especially since 2014 when the Talat Noi area was promoted as a cultural tourism destination. Multiple organizations have offered assistance in its restoration, though lack of government support has largely left maintenance of the house to the family's own expense.

Pass By: Chinatown - Bangkok, Yaowarat Road Samphanthawong, Samphanthawong, Bangkok 10100 Thailand

Built in 1999 as part of the celebrations of King Bhumibol Adulyadej's 72's birthday, Chinatown Gate is often called Odean Gate after the Odean cinema which used to stand nearby. The words on the gate say "Sheng Shou Wu Jiang" which means "Long Live the King". During Chinese New Year celebrations the gate becomes the center of activities where people come to make their offerings.

Stop At: Temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Traimit), 661 Chaoren Krung Road Talad Noi, Samphanthawong, Bangkok 10100 Thailand

Temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Traimit) is undoubtedly the impressive 3m-tall, 5.5-tonne, solid-gold Buddha image, which gleams like, well, gold. Sculpted in the graceful Sukhothai style, the image was 'discovered' some 60 years ago beneath a stucco/plaster exterior, when it fell from a crane while being moved to a new building within the temple compound.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Kuan Yim Shrine (Thian Fa Foundation), Yaowarat Road, Bangkok Thailand

There was a time when the beautiful large shrine to Kuan Im of the Thien Fah Foundation was hidden behind a row of ugly shop-houses and could only be accessed through a narrow drive carved out of one of the shops. The buildings were removed a few years ago, so everyone can have a clear view of the shrine, which gets a lot of visitors on Chinese New Year as well as other special occasions.

The Tien Fa foundation was formed in 1902, making it the oldest charitable society in Bangkok. The foundation provides free medical care to the indigent. The buildings surrounding the shrine actually house the hospital facilities.

Kuan Im (or Guan Yin) is commonly referred to in English as the "Goddess of Mercy". The statue of Kuan Im on the altar at the Thien Fah foundation was carved in China from teak wood and is believed to be 800 to 900 years old. It was taken out of China and installed in the foundation in 1958.
