Few dishes are as well-known in Thailand as phad thai. This fried noodle recipe originates from an attempt by a nationalist Thai leader in the 1940s to give noodles - a Chinese import - a more 'Thai' flavour, by holding a competition. Phad thai was the result. (Cr. BBC)

Stop At: Pak Khlong Talat (Flower Market), Jakkrapet Road, Bangkok 10200 Thailand

Pak Khlong Talat : 'the mouth of the khlong of the market') is a market in Bangkok, Thailand, that sells flowers, fruits, and vegetables. It is the primary flower market of Bangkok and has been cited as a "place of symbolic value" to Bangkok residents. It is on Chak Phet Road and adjacent side-streets, close to Memorial Bridge. Though the market is open 24 hours, it is busiest before dawn, when boats and trucks arrive with flowers from nearby provinces. (Cr. Wikipedia)

Stop At: Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Pho), 2 Sanamchai Road. Prabarom Maharajawang, Pranakorn, Bangkok 10200 Thailand

The temple is first on the list of six temples in Thailand classed as the highest grade of the first-class royal temples. It is associated with King Rama I who rebuilt the temple complex on an earlier temple site, and became his main temple where some of his ashes are enshrined. The temple was later expanded and extensively renovated by Rama III. The temple complex houses the largest collection of Buddha images in Thailand, including a 46 m long reclining Buddha. The temple is considered the earliest centre for public education in Thailand, and the marble illustrations and inscriptions placed in the temple for public instructions has been recognised by UNESCO in its Memory of the World Programme. It houses a school of Thai medicine, and is also known as the birthplace of traditional Thai massage which is still taught and practiced at the temple. (Cr. Wikipedia)

Enjoyed the experience. Tuk tuk ride was fun on the busy Bangkok roads! Tasty Pad Thai and enjoyed the food from street market although would have liked to have sampled more street food. Roof top bar as finale was a great location. Ice, the guide, was great too. Would recommend.

Our guide, Peak, was amazing. He introduced us to so many new and delicious foods at various markets and restaurants around the city. It was wonderful seeing the palace at night, we practically had it to ourselves. It was just us and one other couple, we each had our own tuktuk, which was great. Peak made sure we had cold drinks with all our food and explained what we were eating and what part of town we were in. Instead of waiting in a long line for the Pad Thai, he suggested we get it to go, which only took a few minutes. We then drove to a quiet street and ate in the tuktuk, which gave us longer to sight see. We ended the night with a drink at a rooftop bar with a beautiful view of the river and the temples all lit up.It was the perfect way to spend our last night in Bankok! We definitely recommend this tour.

The food tour was very comprehensive and provided us with a vast quantity of food. Mr Win was careful to make sure that we had a positive experience. The tuk tuk ride, especially in an unexpected downpour was so much fun. Enjoyed the bar at the end where we had a great view of the Royal Palace, Wat Pho and Wat Arun. A highly enjoyable time!
