Natalia Carminati is one of the artists at prestigious residency center Piramidón. She welcomes you to her amazing studio on the 14th floor where she will introduce you to her artistic research and allow you to connect with Barcelonas vibrant art scene first hand. The studio is usually not open to the public, so you will get exclusive access to a private space in Barcelona and connect with an interesting local person.
About Natalia Carminati's Art:
Natalia’s work focuses on the creation of multimedia projects that explore the nature of perception and the way we read our environment. She researches different mechanisms of social and cultural anesthesia and translates this conceptual work in multisensory devices that act upon our perceptual processes. Her work engages the public, creating a participatory and interactive setup, that allows us to share new ways of perceiving our reality and everyday life.

The artist will give you a brief resume of her CV, then sit down with you to comment some of her art work one by one: Her technique, her inspiration, her work process. You will comment 4-10 of her works and of course you are welcome to ask questions regarding the pieces, but there will aslo be time for question and answers at the end of the visit.
Natalia is originally from Argentina but lives and works in Barcelona for years. She can give you a glimpse into the life of a contemporary artist in city of Gaudí and Picasso. Artists are often the collective that picks up the pulse of the time first and can give you insight about socio-cultural aspects of the place you are visiting. Take advantage of that and get to know a different face of the city.
