FAMILY Gothic Quarter Tour in Barcelona
In the center of the labyrinth that denotes this area, is the very well preserved Roman wall (as well as some hidden columns from the Forum). As Barcelona expanded in the Middle Ages, citizens used every nook and cranny; leaving us with a somewhat jumbled web of pedestrian streets! One of Europe's largest medieval Jewish quarters is not to be overlooked either and we will dive into this newly revived area sharing with you the history that shaped Barcelona and Europe's history. Your guide will take you inside the Antique Synagogue. You'll go behind the scenes to see Roman ruins dating back 2,000 years, see a royal palace, hear the stories of the king and queen who funded his explorations, see old headstones from the Jewish cemetery that were used to construct a royal palace, hear the history behind a secret door and much more on this exciting tour through a live pop up history book!
