Stop At: Food Wine Tours, Pintor Fortuny 10-14, 08001 Barcelona Spain

Which better way to experience Barcelona than a dedicated Food tour to taste the authentic and go where locals go.

You will start the tour in a Gastronomic Centre with a sparkling glass of cava. You will continue your tour visiting a local market and its busy farmers market, where the farmers of orchards nearby sell their daily produce.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Mercat de la Boqueria, La Rambla, 91, 08001 Barcelona Spain

You will do a tasting in the Boqueria market of local products

La Boqueria is the most famous market in Barcelona worldwide. It is located in the center of the city of Barcelona (Las Ramblas). Discover it!

La Rambla's history is the Boqueria Market's history. The evolution from a past of peddlers to a modern and charming present, full of colour and life. The market is a metaphor for Barcelona's life, a human river that is the delight for those who like watching.

The first of Barcelona's local markets was opened on Saint Joseph's day, on the 19th of March 1840, after four years of work on the land that was up until then occupied by Saint Joseph's convent. However, the history goes back a good few years before, because on the site on Rambla where the market is today, there were already peddlers selling meat in the thirteenth century.

Marquis Campo Sagrado, Catalonia's general captain, started to establish the rules for this travelling market in an area that became a large square after the convent was gone. With time the Boqueria Market of Barcelona transformed itself in a modern market. It incorporated the gas illumination and the metal cover was finished in 1914. This metal cover as well as protecting food, sellers and buyers, gives character to the market. Nowadays, the third and fourth generation of sellers proudly show the oldest and most complete food market of Barcelona. They offer us vegetables, meat, fish and thousands of other products in stalls with great charm and imaginative presentation. Boqueria Market is a space full of life, history and unquestionable architectural value.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Rambla de Raval, Barcelona Spain

After the market visit your guide will take you to experience an authentic and stimulating Barcelona neighborhood, historic, authentic, vibrant and full of personality, with a great variety of tempting restaurants, cafes, bars and taverns. You will never guess you are only 2 blocks from the most touristic place in Barcelona, Las Ramblas.

You will stop to enjoy typical Spanish vermouth in a truly traditional Tavern.

Barcelona's Raval neighbourhood, which was hemmed in by the city walls until 1859, is now bounded by La Rambla, Carrer Pelai, the Ronda Sant Antoni, Ronda Sant Pere and the Paral•lel. These ancient Roman roads marked out the boundaries of the walls which were demolished so that the rapidly growing city could expand.

Within these perimeters, this area, which had been the site of fields and convents until the mid-19th century, saw the construction of textile mills and workers' houses throughout the network of narrow winding streets in this Barcelona neighbourhood.

Duration: 15 minutes

Stop At: Gothic Quarter (Barri Gotic), Mediterranean Seafront to Ronda de Sant Pere, Ciutat Vella, 08002 Barcelona Spain

By the end of the tour your well-prepared and tasty full meal will be waiting for you. The cook, has a rigid dedication to fresh produce, and dishes are prepared and rotated every day, so as to get the best out of the season’s produce. The only dishes she does not change are the staple traditional dishes hardly found in restaurants.

With our small and intimate groups, you will come to us as a visitor, but leave as a friend.

The Gothic Quarter is one of the most famous landmarks in Barcelona. Located in the heart of the old city, this Barcelona neighborhood features a fusion of buildings dating from Roman times to the 20th century. Welcome to one the most interesting places to visit in Barcelona.

The Gothic quarter is an area teeming with alleyways and squares in the centre of Barcelona, where the presence of palaces, houses and Gothic churches reveals the city's medieval past.

It is one of the most attractive parts of Barcelona, and its streets abound in medieval buildings such as the palaces of the Town Hall and the Generalitat (the Catalan Regional Government), and the Gothic churches of Santa María del Pi and Sant Just y Pastor. It also contains the Jewish quarter, comprising a network of narrow streets and where part of its former synagogue can still be seen today. Its streets are arranged around various squares, of which the most interesting are those of Sant Jaume, el Rei and la Reial. The first is the political heart of Barcelona, and the site of the town hall and the Palau de la Generalitat building. The architectural ensemble in Plaça del Rei square offers arguably the finest examples of mediaeval constructions in Barcelona, with the Palau Reial Major, part of the old Roman wall, the Palau del Lloctinent (Deputy's Palace) and the City History Museum. Finally La Reial is an exceptionally lovely porticoed square and a very popular spot –particularly in the evening– thanks to its numerous cafés and bars. This neighbourhood has been the heart of the city since Roman times, and in fact is the site of the Roman necropolis (Villa de Madrid square), while very nearby it is still possible to see the remains of the Roman temple of Augustus.

We found ourselves bored during this 2 hour and 10 minute tour advertised as 3 hours. We walked by a few different shops coffee, bakery, ect but didn't go inside to sample anything. Our guide was training and seemed nervous most of the time. The stop at the local bar with tapas was ok, but we shared a small bowl of olives as our tapas. The dinner was not good, and our guides left us there before our food even arrived. They said they were going to be leaving us, to enjoy our meal, paid the bill and left. The whole experience was weird and underwhelming.
