About this activity
*If you are traveling with children or teenagers, please see our family friendly version of this tour that includes age appropriate educational scavenger hunts (for those with teenagers, think escape room like scavenger hunts) and blindfolded chocolate tasting!

As Barcelona expanded in the Middle Ages, every single nook and cranny was built up, giving the Gothic Quarter the narrow, maze-like streets you see you today. You will start your tours with a bird's eye view over the city from the rooftop of the Cathedral of Barcelona. Afterwards, your expert guide will combine history, culture and fun while leading you through the neighborhood, stopping at both popular sites and secret areas known only to locals.

You’ll see one of Europe’s largest medieval Jewish quarters, with the chance to step inside the Antique Synagogue, one of only five medieval synagogues still in existence. You’ll also get to see the famous Cathedral of Barcelona, Plaza Sant Jaume and 2,000-year-old Roman ruins! History will come to life as you walk through shrapnel-marked Civil War battlegrounds, learn about palaces constructed from ancient headstones and hear the fascinating stories these ancient walls hold.

We'll end the tour by enjoying Spain's most popular pastry - churros and chocolate - at one of the city oldest cafes.

This tour is perfect for all ages and anyone looking to take a closer look at one of Barcelona’s most well-known areas. It’s also a great option for your first day in the city. Book this tour if you’re ready for an insider’s guide to the Gothic Quarter!
