This is a typical itinerary for this product
Stop At: Abadia de Montserrat, Carretera BP-1121 S/N, 08199 Montserrat Spain
The mountain of Montserrat is situated 45km northwest of Barcelona. This multi-peaked mountain is also a unique Natural Park plenty of shapes, caves, stairs and paths. You can enjoy wonderful views from the top of it as well as its own weird shapes and rounded peaks. A unique visit!
Montserrat is a Benedictine monastery nearly 1000 years old where you can find the Black Madonna, also known as La Moreneta, which represents the patron saint of Catalonia. This figure is very popular because in honour of her, Gregorian chants will be singing every day.
Montserrat is thriving with culture: paintings, gold lamps, decorated chapels and so on. Enjoy also the library of 300,000 volumes and the museum where El Greco, Dalí, Picasso and other treasures from ancient Egypt can be found.
The visit will coincide with the Boys’ Choir Midday Concert if they children are performing that day.
On arrival our guide will give a tour to the main places such as the museum with a great collection of paintings, the different bars, restaurants and shops that are located there and also the monastery and basilica, two of the main attractions.
The guide will give explanations outside the basilica as silence must be kept inside it. You'll be shown the Lady's Chapel of the 12th Century figure of the Lady of Montserrat.
Tour members will have free time to dedicate to the aspects of this beautiful and spiritual place that attract them most.

We had a fast drive to and from the Mountain and the buildings were modern and are well taken care of by the keepers. There was a semi steep hill, but easy to walk. The history is interesting and our guide was great and very through of your knowledge of the surrounding areas and the religious history of the monastery as well as the monks and nuns, as well as the choir boys who stay there. I don't think I'd recommend for an active 15 yo boy as my grandson, he would have been great going, but kind of bored with the slowness of second half of the 1/2 day tour. They have a nice gift shop, as well as the cafeteria was good.
Tour should be timed wherein we can spend more than an hour enjoying Montserrat. Coach bus ride was good and enjoyable but I felt very rushed once we got to Montserrat.
Montserrat is a very beautiful place and this tour was a good way to see it. It's a bit of a drive up windy mountain roads to get there, but once there, it's one of the most beautiful and peaceful spots in Barcelona. It's definitely worth a visit.
Worth the money and the tour guide was great and knowledgeable. Would highly recommend for others visiting Barcelona.
Thoroughly enjoyed this trip! Montserrat is magnificent!! So glad we were able to go and see this! Our guide Laura was exceptional! We were very impressed with the whole experience! Carol M.
This tour was the best part of my trip to Barcelona. The mountain has been a sacred sight since ancient times, and the Christian monastery/cathedral is a very holy place. The statue of our Blessed Mother and Infant is miraculous, and I was able to touch her and make my prayer request. I did not want to leave.
Well worth it. Fantastic views and place. You have ample time to visit and to see everything, including the church, the madonna. Guide was very good.
This would be a great tour just for the ride up to the monastery and the view once you get there. But there is so much more. The Church within the monastery is home to the Black Madonna and it is not to be missed. Located high above and behind the altar the trip to it is spectacular. We took the afternoon tour which was good because it was not crowded. It is not the best of times for the perfect photo but I will take less crowded every time. The guide was also excellent. There is a place to eat or drink on site but it closes before the afternoon tour is completed.
