Matthew Dear, already under his own name, like Audion or False, is a key figure of the world's electronic music of the last two decades, in the labels Ghostly International and his pistera Spectral Sound, of which he is co-founder, as in so many others in which he has left a mark of his irresistible and unique style. Sometimes more techno, dark and instrumental, sometimes more house, deep and vocal, Dear is a box of surprises. Head of Black City, Asa Breed, and Leave Luck To Heaven, albums considered classics of avant-pop, returns to the big front with Modafinil Blues, a work as transcendental as prodigious, where he looks inward, exploring a dark and playful psyche.
