Duration: 3 hours

Stop At: Castlexperience - Wine Tours, St. Montsio 10 Rusc de Turisme, 08002 Barcelona Spain

Chatter, rejoicing and laughter around the table, enlivened by the delight of discovering culture through food and wine. All of it echoes in your mind while you walk through the woods, after a fabulous Spanish lunch. It smells of wild rosemary and pine trees. Of thyme and lavender. Mediterranean scents walk along with you as you take a comforting stroll in the forest. At the end of it, trees allow a long waited sight. After having explored the depths of Montserrat Monastery history and legends, after having been marveled at its stunning views and landscape, a new one now opens up now before you. Your stomach is full of joy, but you are ready for more. You are ready to cross the gates of a 10th Century castle and learn the new stories that lie in the huge estate that surrounds it. With a glass of wine in your hand, and Montserrat Massif presiding the scene, now it’s time to be inspired by tradition, by the determination of many generations that have shaped the country. From the buds of its vines, wine drips into your glass as culminating a memorable day.

Duration: 10 hours

Stop At: Oller del Mas, Carretera Igualada Km 91, 08241 Manresa Spain

Oller del Mas is not a common winery – its superb ecological wines have earned plenty of awards in the recent years. In fact, one of its wines won the “Best Wine in Catalonia” award in 2018. But the cellar is not only special for its wines. You will take a stroll by the vineyards, learn how the wine is made, and discover all of its secrets.

*We work daily with different low-production, family-owned boutique wineries. Due to logistic reasons, you might visit another cellar instead of Oller del Mas.

We had the best day exploring Montserrat on this tour, and I highly recommend it for anyone traveling to Spain! Our tour guide, Aurora, was extremely friendly, helpful, knowledgeable and fun, and the tour itself was very well organized. It was the perfect mix of education, free time and food/drink! We loved the extra free time in Montserrat, as we used it do a wonderful hike up the mountain.

Wanted to see Montserrat painlessly and chose this trip. Meeting up was seamless, guides were personal, humorous, and knowledgeable, travel was done in comfort, and did a variety of things in one day. Highly recommended. Worth the money.

Montserrat is a must see if you are in Barcelona and have the time available. The tour was well organized and very informative. Lunch and wine tasting were fun and enjoyable. Rubi, our tour guide was excellent - knowledgeable, funny and great at keeping things running smoothly.

Not too often does a product advertised by a seller surpasses the expectations of the consumer. This tour indeed falls in that envied category. It's very clear that the chief aspects of the Monsterrat experience and the Winery visit with lunch were good but not to be discounted was the time allowed to mingle among fellow members in the group and the experience of sampling and purchasing the chesses, honeys et cetera produced by the locals. The guides were very casual and mingled easily among the group. They were well informed and entertained queries and disbeliefs. Our guide was Jordi. He is from a village nearby Montserrat. His English was flawless WITHOUT and accent thus there was no 'Hollywood' mispronounciations. He was very good. I would even do this tour agai. Montserrat is more than a natural wonder. Wayne

Pep, our guide, made this trip a real treat. We were part of a large tour that they divided into 3 groups. Pep made sure we all introduced ourselves and shepherded us masterfully thru a beautiful 35+ generation winery where we sampled several wines and toured the estate. After that the bus climbed up the mountain to the top of Montserrat where Pep helped us explore the many options we had for our free time. We chose to see the black Madonna and hike out to see the cross at the peak of the mountain...stunning views everywhere you looked. Lunch was also provided and we had the chance to dine with Pep who told us more about history of the region. Montserrat is a must see. Truly a wonderful day.

My husband and I both thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the Oller Winery and Montsserat this past Tuesday. Albert did a fantastic job in providing just the right amount of information about Barcelona, the winery and the monastery. He gave us good advice about taking the Funicular first and then coming back to visit the Black Madonna. By doing this we did not have to wait in line at all! Well done Albert! The lunch was much more than we had expected by being served and waited on.. Thank you for making a memorable experience for us!

The entire tour was excellent, my only comment would be that the train from the lower lot would have been nice to see the scenery.

We had a great time on our wine tour! A huge shoutout to our guide, Carol, she was everything you could want and more! She made the trip fun and made sure everyone felt included! The wine tasting at Oller del Mas was the first stop on our tour and we got to try four different wines (a woman in our group bought a bottle of merlot for the whole table to taste) which was a bonus for all! We then traveled up to Montserrat and had a delicious full course meal. You are given a bit of free time at Montserrat and we were able to hike up to the cross for an amazing view! Definitely recommend this tour!

The trip to Montserrat was great. The views going up the mountains were spectacular, the abbey was beautiful and the shops and market were great. Then the lunch and wine tasting were wonderful, both food and wine were great.

Our guide, Sylvia, was simply outstanding. Incredibly knowledgeable, wonderful command of the English language, and surprisingly a very learned wine commentator. The visit to the Montserrat Monastery area was, first stunning in its incredibly views, and chock full of history, legend and the roots of the story, and legend, of the Black Virgin. A very busy day, that went like clockwork, and provided an in-depth look at the unique nature of Catalonia. Lunch at the winery was a delightful introduction to some unusual, but very nice, very local wines. WELL worth the time, and investment. Highly Recommended. ESPECIALLY if you are lucky enough to get Sylvia as your guide!!

Luis was our guide. He was great. He gave us a guided tour of Montserrat and then turned us lose for a couple of hours. We had time to get in line to see the Black Madonna and walk out to the cross. Our group was one of the first tourists there for the day. Not crowded when we got there but sure was by the time we left. We met back up and traveled (very nice views on way) to a castle that has been in the same family for 1,000 years. Had a very nice multi-course luncheon with plenty of red and white wine. Then we walked to the cellar to have a wine tasting. Many people napped on the way back to Barcelona -- busy day! We understand that there is a half day tour that shortens the time at Montserrat to just a quick visit and then a combined tapas/wine tasting at the same winery. We weren't short on time, so I'm really glad we did the full day.t

Our trip to Montserrat and Oller Del Mas was one of the highlights of our trip! We were met right on time at the meeting point outside Hard Rock Cafe. Our guide, Mercedes was so friendly and engaging from the minute we met her. Such a character and fun! We boarded our bus with the guests and were on our way! Mercedes starts her history lesson and everyone keen to learn the magic of this incredibly sacred mountain! As we approach, the mountain is truly a wonder to behold! A short walk from the bus and we arrive at the Monestry and the Basilica. Just beautiful! Free time begins after a lovely guided walk around with Mercedes. So much to see here! Walks, a visit to the Museum, touch the hand of the black Madonna, the Basilica or take the funicular to the highest point! We meet up again and then off to lunch and our wine tasting at Oller Del Mas with our group. A lot of fun, a very enjoyable meal and ample wine! Wine tasting to follow. A long, but thoroughly enjoyable day and well worth the time and money! Mercedes, our guide, made our day so much fun! A very professional, well run tour we can highly recommend!

What a fabulous day! The admin at the start of the trip was handled smoothly and we were soon on our way to Montserrat. Our tour guide Luis was fabulous. He was friendly, funny and truly seemed to want us to have the best time. Montserrat was beautiful and we had just the right amount of time for the guided tour and then plenty of free time. The lunch at the winery was simple but well executed and tasty. Extra drinks for us thirsty wine drinkers were available at a very reasonable cost. The wine tasting was interesting and Luis knew his stuff, although another couple of wines would have been good. The group size of 16 was just right - the opportunity to meet like minded wine buffs - but not too many! I would thoroughly recommend this tour - especially if Luis is your guide!

Guide was well informed and the bus was comfortable. Dress warm the temps and wind at the Monistary were extreme in April. The views from the top were spectacular but the buildings were built at different times and more modern than expected to hold a replica of the miss placed Madonna. Lunch at the winery was very overrated. Be advised that the bus ride could cause problems for weak stomached.

What hope do you have of a tour of an amazing rocky environment and a winery on a day when the heavens opened and the visibility was approx one metre!! Most would say "forget about it!!" but not this tour group!! If anything they tried harder to accomodate everyone's needs!! With smiles and jokes and a lot of prayers we soldiered through and had a great day. We met strangers from every part of the world and we meet Maria!! She was awesome...muchos gracias!! We think you are great!!

We booked this tour because I thought it would be nice to get out of the city for a day. It turned out to be an amazing experience at the monastery and the wine tasting was fantastic. Our guide Marta was delightful and would highly recommend this tour.

Montserrat was stunning. We were fortunate to experience it on a cloudless, sunny day. The commentary by the guides during the scenic journey helped to set the context for our visit. The cathedral is beautiful and the sound of the church's boys' choir accompanied by the organ was ethereal. Don't miss the art museum if you are an art lover - an exceptional collection from early Greek and Roman right through modern (including Dali and a few other surprises). Lunch, tour, and wine tasting at Oller del Mas was superb. Our guide, Jordi, a native of the area, is a wealth of knowledge about history, culture, art and wine. We experienced an exceptionally rich and memorable day.

we took a tour of the Montsarrat Monastery with Viator on Dec. 11/2018 . Very good tour of this beautiful place perched on the flanks of the mountain. Our guide, Aurelia , was knowledgeable, interesting and friendly. This 1000 year old Monastery is located one hour's drive from Barcelona. After our visit to the monastery we had a very good included lunch with plenty of wine, at Oller del Mas winery , which we visited afterwards for a wine tasting . All in all, a good day of touring ( full day )

I feel you get a lot for your money. The meal alone could have easily been $40 back in the states. This included gazpacho, salad with cooked tuna, traditional potatoes (can’t remember name), wine, bread, pasta dish (pork/chicken cannelloni type) and fruit. Also a shot of local digestif (really good, very light anise flavor but so much better-don’t be afraid to try it!).Then addon the wine tasing (sampled 3). Great deal. I learned a lot during the vineyard tour. Simon, the guide was super knowledgeable. I was glad we got him, as he seems very tenured and seasoned as a guide. He always had the right tone and attitude which is hard when dealing people day in and out. All the guides on our bus had a wonderful sense of humor. I only wished we had more free time on the mountain. We went during peak times and wait times were long. The guide was great about informing us of this. He had times for each option you could choose once on your own. You then had to decide what was priority during that time. Hard decision- it’s all so amazing there. The pilgrimage to the black Madonna is amazing to witness. I highly recommend looking into her story!

This is an easy day trip that gives you beautiful views and interesting history. Montserrat is unbelievable- make sure you stay to hear the children sing at 1pm. And the winery was a really nice trip. Loved our guide as well!
