About this activity

The Olympic and Sports Museum is located on the mountain of Montjuïc and offers a unique experience on sports (popular, minority, Olympic and non-Olympic, football, motorcycling, Formula 1, skiing, cycling, canoeing, baseball, chess, tennis...) This innovative museum offers its visitors an overview of the different sports disciplines, using state-of-the-art technology and interactive exhibitions, as well as multimedia installations.

Through its interactive screens and exhibits, visitors can experience the sport and relive moments of the history of Olympic sport. Thanks to their simulators you can run against Carl Lewis or Usain Bolt, check how Mark Spitz or Michael Phelps swam, improve the aerodynamics when cycling or compare the real weight that the great weightlifting champions can raise. A whole experience in sports!

In addition, the museum has a permanent exhibition on the host cities of the Olympics, from Barcelona 1992 to London 2012, and enjoy the first Olympics that were broadcasted on television. On the tour, you can enjoy Barcelona '92, known as the best games in history. The museum has an impressive collection about "Cobi" and "Petra" on the Olympics, including the paraphernalia of the spectacular opening ceremony.

In the Idols space, you can find references, milestones and elements of the best athletes and moments in history and perform activities as diverse as comparing the shoes of great athletes such as Michael Jordan, Pau Gasol or Roberto Dueñas, discovering the Samaranch collection or enjoying the live sport among others.

The adapted sports for people with different types of disabilities occupies a prominent space in this museum. From the Goalball (football for the blind and visually impaired, with a ball that carries a bell inside) to the first wheelchair competition, or this sleigh adapted, among many others.
