The Montserrat mountain with the Benedictine monastery of Santa Maria at the top, is a 45-km drive northwest of Barcelona. The 1,200m high mountain is a stunning sight, and the 12th-Century monastery built into the mountain looks like a painting from a storybook. You will have some time to explore this picturesque spot and take in the views.
