About this activity
You will be collected from Port Zante via an Open Air Safari and journey through the historic capital, Basseterre. Visits will be made to historical sites such as the Circus, the Independence Square which was originally called the Pall Mall Square, the St. Georges Anglican Church which is considered the main State Church and was constructed between 1856 and 1859. You will then journey to the War Memorial which was built in honor of World Wars I (1914-1918) & II (1939-1945). Journeying westwards your next stop will be at the Caribbelle Batik where you can shop for our local Batik clothing. On your way to the Caribelle Batik, you will view a number of interesting Carib petroglyphs and also Wingfield Estate where you can find the oldest aqueduct in the Lesser Antilles. The next stop will be at the Brimstone Hill Fortress which is also known as 'The Gibraltar of the West Indies', in reference to its imposing height and seeming invulnerability. It was declared a World Heritage Site in 1999. We will then journey to Timothy Hill at the South East Peninsular overlooking the beautiful Mariott Resort and where you can view both the Atlantic Ocean and the Caribbean Ocean. The final stop will be at the Cockle Shell Beach where you can relax and enjoy our tranquil water. Come and have the time of your life!
