Itinerary
This is a typical itinerary for this product

Pass By: Bath Abbey, Bath BA1 1LT England

We meet in central Bath, opposite the Abbey Hotel BA1 1LF (not far from Bath Abbey). Look out for the Lion Tours minibus. Please arrive 10 minutes before the departure time.

Stop At: Castle Combe Village, Off the M4, Castle Combe SN14 7HX England

Castle Combe was once a weaving town at the heart of the Cotswolds wool trade and described as the prettiest village in England - it has featured in films such as War Horse and was the fictional Puddleby-on-the Marsh in Dr. Dolittle, the 1960's film with Rex Harrison. The village is built around the 14th-century Market Cross with the old water pump beside it.

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Lacock Abbey, Lacock SN15 2LG England

Visit the picturesque National Trust village of Lacock, with guided walk. Once a prosperous woollen town, Lacock now it seems like a village trapped in time. There has been no major building here in the last 200 years so you really feel as if you're stepping back into English history. It is a favourite film location for Harry Potter, Pride and Prejudice and Downton Abbey. Stunning views of Lacock Abbey. (We do not go into Lacock Abbey on this tour. If you particularly want to visit the Abbey there is an admission charge or free to National Trust members).

Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: Salisbury Cathedral and Magna Carta, 6 The Close, Salisbury SP1 2EF England

Salisbury Cathedral can boast Britain’s tallest spire (404 feet/123 metres) and the world’s oldest working clock but its story begins 2,500 years ago when an iron age fort was built on Salisbury Hill about 2 miles north of the modern town centre. It is also home to the finest of four original 1215 Magna Carta manuscripts, housed within the 13th century Chapter House, at the heart of a permanent interactive exhibition. (See below for Chapter House opening times to see the Magna Carta). The Cathedral Close is an oasis of calm. Other treasures include the National Trust’s Mompesson House, The Salisbury Museum, Arundells (home of former Prime Minister Sir Edward Heath), The Rifles Berkshire & Wiltshire Museum and Sarum College.

Exploring the town you will discover a delightful array of shops, restaurants and cafes.

N.B Admission to Salisbury Cathedral is by voluntary donation towards the upkeep of the cathedral.

Duration: 2 hours 30 minutes

Stop At: Woodhenge, Durrington England

Fully guided drive, passing Old Sarum, the site of the earliest settlement of Salisbury. Stop off at Woodhenge and Durrington Walls where the builders of Stonehenge are believed to have lived. Hear about exciting archaeological discoveries made by the Stonehenge Riverside Project in recent years.

Duration: 10 minutes

Stop At: Stonehenge, Amesbury SP4 7DE England
