Half-day Tour of the American D-Day sites in Normandy

During this half-day tour, you will have the opportunity to visit all the most significant US battlefield sites of D-Day,

Departing from Bayeux, you will first reach the coastal battlefield area of Omaha Beach. Your guide will explain to you why on this place there was one of the boldest and most successful large scale invasions in military history.

After a short drive, you will be taken to the Pointe du Hoc site which is located between Utah & Omaha beaches. You will discover the lunar landscapes of this place which was a focal point of the amphibious assault by U.S. forces during the early morning hours of D-Day, 6 June 1944.

At the end of the tour, you will stop at the Normandy American Cemetery, in Colleville-sur-Mer. Here you will have some time to walk around and pay homage but also visit the Visitor Center.

At the end of the tour, you will discover the story of the Ardenne Abbey, where eighteen Canadian soldiers were executed without mercy. The church is built in the early Gothic style and is surrounded by medieval farm buildings encircled by walls. A small Canadian memorial is still located there.
