Omaha Beach D-Day Shuttle from Bayeux

3h30
About this activity
Once we have departed Bayeux, we will head off to the Omaha sector of the Normandy D-Day beaches. This is the location that was featured in the movie, "Saving Private Ryan". You will visit two main sites on this 3.5 hour shuttle service including:

The American Cemetery
After being fully briefed on this location while driving from Bayeux, you will have two hours to explore the visitor center and, the incredibly moving cemetery. You will be able to visit the grave sites of some of the people we have talked about in the vehicle. There is no doubt that you will be moved when you see the perfectly aligned crosses and Stars of Davids that represent each of the fallen. We also recommend visiting a German fortification just next to the cemetery. This will give you a great view of the eastern end of Omaha Beach from a high vantage point. You will also be able to explore some remaining German bunkers.

Omaha Beach
We will stop and give you fifteen minutes free time to walk on the beach to reflect. Having already visited the cemetery and the eastern end of Omaha Beach from a high vantage point, standing on the sand where men fell and gave their lives for freedom, will be a solemn and moving experience that you will never forget.

Re-board the bus for the ride back to Bayeux. During the journey, you will learn more thanks to the information we provide inside the vehicle.

Please note that we do not guide at stops however, with the information we provide onboard, you will be fully prepared before you arrive at each site which will allow you more time to take in these incredible locations.
