A day of discovery awaits with this trip to Badaling and the Ming Tombs.

With an English-speaking tour guide, travel to Badaling, one of the most famous sections of the Great Wall of China. Meandering majestically through the hills and peaks of the Chinese provinces, the Great Wall is undoubtedly one of China’s finest feats of engineering and this section (which was renovated in the 1980s) manages to retain an air of awe-inspiring history and deep-rooted culture whilst providing all the conveniences that modern travellers could wish for. Visitors who may not be able to hike, can take a cable car to its lofty heights and admire the amazing panoramas. After a morning of exploration, enjoy an authentic and traditional lunch at a local restaurant.

Once replete, move on to the fascinating Ming Tombs to experience these majestic and excellently preserved historical mausoleums. This sprawling complex filled with scattered tombs is the final resting place for 13 of the 16 Ming dynasty emperors.

The next stop of the afternoon will be the affectionately known Bird's Nest or the Olympic National Stadium. Admire the stunning modern architecture and have chance to explore and discover the surrounding grounds.

Included in the trip will be a short visit to a jade carving factory to see how local workers create beautiful artworks with this precious mineral as well as a stop at a traditional Tea House for a rejuvenating cup of green tea.
