Stop At: Temple of Heaven, Tiantan Road, Dongcheng District, Beijing 100050 China
Meet your guide at the lobby of your hotel in Beijing city centre to start this tour.
You will first visit the Temple of Heaven,a notable icon of the capital. The Temple of Heaven was a sacrificial complex for annual harvesting ceremonies during both the Ming and the Qing Dynasties. You can learn more about this in the museum accompanying the iconic temple. On top of that, its surrounding park is vast and also offers the opportunity to join in or watch locals doing their exercises every morning, or to just go for a pleasant morning stroll.
After that, we will take you to a Silk Factory where experts will help you see the process of silk making, from silkworm to finished product. Your guides can also help you explain how everything is made, and it’s the perfect place to get some souvenirs for friends and families at home.
Duration: 2 hours
Stop At: Lama Temple (Yonghegong), No.12 Yonghegong Street, Beixinqiao, Dongcheng District, Beijing 100007 China
We will then bring you to the Lama Temple, the most celebrated Buddhist temple in Beijing and a temple of the Geluk School of Tibetan Buddhism. It is one of the largest and most influential in China, and was the only temple to have been said to have survived the Cultural Revolution, and only reopened to the public in 1981. Take in the architecture and the oasis of calm amidst one of the most buzzing historic districts in the city, and enjoy the Tibetan thangkas, a traditional painting on cotton, or silk, depicting a Buddhist deity, scene, or mandala.
Duration: 1 hour 30 minutes
Stop At: Beijing Zoo, No.137 Xizhimenwai Main Street, Xicheng District, Beijing 100044 China
Following your visit to the Lama Temple, you can have a traditional Chinese cuisine lunch at local restaurant with your guide’s help (lunch on your own), before we move on to see the giant pandas at the Beijing Zoo, where you’ll be able to see the endangered giant panda in real life. Did you know that giant pandas spend about 12-38 kg for bamboo everyday to get all their nutrients out of bamboo? Giant pandas (in)famously spend most of their day eating or digesting their food while napping.
Once the visit is finished, we will drop you off at your hotel in Beijing city centre
