About this activity
After picking you up from your hotel in Beijing, meet your private guide and head to the Olympic park, you can choose to take the subway - like a local or taxi (on your own expense).

Beijing Olympic Park is located at the north end of the central axis of Beijing. It is the extension of the traditional axis of the city, which means the continuation of the thousand-year history and culture of China.

Journey first to the Beiding Niangniang Temple which was originally a tiny temple housing the village goddess. Later, mother of Emperor Shizong of the Ming Dynasty built a Niangniang Temple here in token of her gratitude to the Heaven for giving her the prince. The temple is dedicated to the Goddess of Mount Tai - Bixia Yuanjun. Now it is part of the Beijing Folk Arts Museum.

Next, you will visit the National Stadium - known as the "Birds Nest".The National Stadium hosted the main track and field Football, and final competitions for the 2008 Summer Olympics, as well as the opening and closing ceremonies. The twig-like structure and the bowl-shaped roof are the masterpiece of the project. It is designed by Herzog and DeMeuron. The most unique feature of the structure is its "cushion" system which can fill the spaces within the building's facade to regulate wind, weather, and sunlight. It can house 91,000 visitors.

Then, move to the The National Aquatics Center (the Water Cube). The National Swimming Center is the only important Olympic venue that is built by donations from compatriots from Hong Kong and Macao. It has a total floor space of 50,000 square meters with a seating capacity of 17,000. The whole project costs about US$100 million. The center was used for swimming, diving, synchronized swimming and water-polo games during the Olympic Games 2008. After the games, the center has turned into a large water recreational center open to the public. It is dubbed "cube" because of its semi-transparent "bubbles" spread out all over its surface with a shape very similar to the structure of "H2O".

Your tour ends up here, you can choose to spend more time here to explore on your own, or your tour guide will help you to find a taxi back to your hotel.( on your own expense).
