About this activity
Meet your guide at your hotel at 8:30 in the morning to visit the Forbidden City, also known as the Imperial Palace Museum and located on the north side of Tiananmen Square. The history of every dynasty is represented in four palatial halls, plus antiques and treasures from China's thousands of years of history.
Then you will visit an interesting cloisonné enamel ware factory. Cloisonné is an art technique mainly used to decorate metal objects or ceramics, and was very popular in China during the Ming and Qing eras. After this, you will have time to enjoy a traditional Chinese cuisine lunch.
The next activity will take place at the Beijing Zoo, where you will have the opportunity to see the giant pandas in real life and going about their daily lives.
Then you will travel on a boat to the Summer Palace, one of Beijing’s most popular landmarks and one of the best examples of an imperial garden in China. The site covers a total of almost 2 miles and incorporates a huge lake within its boundaries and has long been a royal garden and was considerably enlarged during the reign of Empress Dowager Cixi who effectively controlled China for 47 years between 1861 and 1908.
Your final activity will be a tea ceremony where you can learn more about China’s tea culture before you travel back to your hotel around 4:30pm.
