About this activity

Friendly local tour guide will pick you up from your Beijing downtown hotel lobby at around 7:00 – 7:30 am based on hotel location, get in an air-conditioned comfortable coach to start the day trip.
It takes approx. 1.5 hours driving from the downtown area to Mutianyu Great Wall. Your English-speaking tour guide will give you an explication of the Great Wall and its related history and culture on the way.
Built mainly with granite, Mutianyu Great Wall was opened to tourists in 1986, the second Great Wall site opened to tourists after Badaling section. Watchtowers are tensely distributed along the Mutianyu Great Wall, and the surrounding natural scenery is also stunning. There you will find that over ninety-six percent of the total scenic area is covered by woods and bushes. You may hike there for around 6 km with 3 hours and take some perfect pictures of the Great Wall.
After having lunch at a local restaurant, drive back to downtown at around 5:00 pm. You will be dropped off along the subway station, where you can take either subway or taxi to your final destination (at your own expense). This day tour concludes.
