About this activity
Meet your driver and guide at your Beijing hotel or centrally located place of your choice first thing in the morning. Departure time is flexible, however an early morning departure is recommended due to bad traffic. Begin the tour by taking a stroll through Tiananmen Square, the biggest downtown square in the world. From the north end of the square, enter the Forbidden City which is the world's largest palace complex and is also houses the Palace Museum. This large rectangular palace complex located in the center of Beijing was the imperial palace during the Ming and Qing dynasties. Spend about 2 hours touring the Forbidden City in the company of your professional guide.

Good Chinese cuisine is an important part of your Beijing city tour experience. Visit a nice non-tourist local restaurant to enjoy a quality authentic Chinese lunch served family style and shared by the tour participants. Your guide will help you order according to your taste: mild, spicy, meat, vegetables, rice and/or noodles. The driver may eat on his own, but your guide will join you if you like. Soft drinks, bottled water and Chinese tea are included with your meal.

After lunch, take a 1.5-hour scenic drive to reach the famous Mutianyu Great Wall situated in Huairou County, about 45 miles (72 km) northeast of Beijing. Spend about 2 hours sightseeing at the Mutianyu Great Wall. You can take the cable car up and enjoy a short stroll on the wall then come back down in the cable car or take the cable car up and enjoy an extended 45-minute walk on the wall to reach the toboggan track. Tandem toboggan sleds are available for travelers with children. Everyone will enjoy this fun and safe experience. There are fish farms and local restaurants located in Mutianyu Village where visitors can even fish for their own trout and have it cooked. At the conclusion of this full-day tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel in Beijing around 6pm.
