About this activity
At 8:30 am, your personal local guide will greet you at your hotel lobby, and escort to air-conditioned (non-smoking) vehicle with experienced driver ready waiting.
The first stop is Tian’anmen Square, surrounded by magnificent buildings like the Mausoleum of Chairman Mao and the Great Hall of the People. It has witnessed many important national incidents of China, which will be shared to you by your guide.
Enter the Forbidden City, the work place and home to 24 emperors in the Ming and Qing dynasties from 1420 AD to 1911 AD. In addition to introduction on the background of architecture and historical treasures, your guide will take you to explore 12 carefully selected places to reveal the deep secrets of ancient emperors and concubines at that time.
Have a rest and enjoy authentic Chinese lunch at a local restaurant. Your guide will help you order dishes to your likes. Afterwards, drive 1½ hours to Mutianyu section of the Great Wall.
The cable car takes you directly to Tower 14, where you begin walking the most beautiful and interesting part (between the 14th and 23rd watch towers). After explanations from your guide, you will have free time to walk around and take photos at the best angles. Usually it takes about 2 hours to complete the walk. Descend by cable car and take a bus back to your vehicle.
The tour ends with drop-off at your hotel about 6 pm.
