Private Trip: Chen Castle Great Wall Camping (2days)

Itinerary

Day 1: Chen Castle Great Wall

Stop At: Chenjiapu, Huailai, Zhangjiakou, Hebei, China
After a great lunch in a local farm house, we start with a 45-minute uphill hike through the hills towards the Great Wall. The higher we get, the better views we see. Once we reach the Great Wall, you will see miles and miles of China’s Great Wall all around you.

From then on it's a pretty relaxing hike on top of the Great Wall. As we walk on the Wall over the mountain ridges, new section of the Great Wall keep unfolding. After a medium hike up the famous staircases we reach the highest tower of this Great Wall section. From this General Tower, you will have excellent views on miles and miles of Great Wall.

From the General Tower, it's a short hike towards a camping spot. The Wall is in its best shape and a place for top class pictures. We can pitch our tents on a flat section on top of the Wall. Once the tents are up you can choose to explore another part of the Wall or just relax and enjoy the view. If you’ve never camped on the Great Wall then this is a good chance to do it in style and watch the sun set behind the mountains with a glass of wine in your hands.

Day 2: Chen Castle Great Wall

Stop At: Chenjiapu, Huailai, Zhangjiakou, Hebei, China
We continue our hike for another hour on top of the Wall. It will be slightly downhill walk as the Great Wall follows the ridge towards the next valley. When the Wall reaches its lowest point, we wave goodbye to the Wall and enter a little forest trail. A one hour hike in the shadow of the trees will bring us to the stone valley where our driver will pick us up and bring us back to Beijing.
