About this activity

Your tour guide will pick you up from your hotel, and then, drive to Tian'anmen Square, one of the largest city squares in the world. Its name literally means “Gate of Heavenly Peace”. The square witnessed the foundation of the People’s Republic of China and several important events in Chinese history.
Pass through the big gate with Chairman mao's Portrait, visit the Forbidden City, you will have VIP access to enter to the largest ancient imperial palaces group in the world with 500 years history .This palace is an example of ancient Chinese architecture.( Visit the Forbidden City from south to north for about 2 hours.)
Visit scenic spots:
• The hall and the courtyard of supreme harmony
• The meridian gate
• The hall of supreme harmony
• The hall of complete harmony
• The hall of preserving harmony
• The huge of stone carving
• The hall of union
• the palace of earthly tranquility
• the imperial garden, etc.
After Forbidden City, drive to The Temple of Heaven. It is the largest ancient imperial worship architecture group in the world. Visit it for about 1 hour.

• The imperial vault of heaven
• Echo wall
• Triple sound stone
• The circular mound altar, etc.
Have Chinese lunch in our selected Restaurant.
After lunch, drive about 40 minutes to Summer Palace, it is the largest and most beautiful Chinese imperial garden, which UNESCO declared the Summer Palace “a masterpiece of Chinese landscape garden design". Visit it for about 1-1.5 hours.

• Hall of jade billows
• The hall of joyful longevity
• The covered walkway, 6. the marble boat, etc.
Two shopping stops for group tour:
• Pearl shop is arranged at noon
• Tea ceremony in the end of the tour
After the tour, you will be transferred back to your hotel.

The small group tour I was part of had 10 participants in a small van. The driver picked me up 1st at 6:20am and then we spent the better part of an hour picking up the rest of the group. First stop was Tienanmen square and then we walked to the forbidden city. Our guide was great in giving background information of each location and answered all questions. The guides English was very good. We had two useless stops which included a foot massage/traditional medicine shop and pearl market. The last stop was the summer palace was so large that we could only explore half of it. Would have been great to remove the pearl market and have more time to explore! Got back to the hotel at around 530pm which makes it a long but rewarding day!
