This was a very well executed tour. Linda our guide to the airport picked us up right at 6:00 am as promised, gave us our train tickets and took us through security, to our departure hall. She helped us buy breakfast and was willing to stay with us until we felt comfortable. Linda even put us in a seat close to check in as she knew the Chinese don't reall que and wanted to make sure we could get through quickly. The seats on the train were also purchased with thought getting us seats on the 2 side and near the bathrooms. My only suggestion would be to offer the option of 1st class and business class for additional money as Viator normally does. For a 5 1/2 our train ride, I would have sprung for the upgrade as the seats were bad and there was no air on the train. Mary our guide in Xi'an was waiting as promised and was a very lovely young lady that would prove to be as flexible as we wanted. The hotel was a dump and filthy and again they may want to offer choices for upgrades at a higher cost. The tour it self is amazing and was my wife's chilhood dream to see and it did not disappoint. We were there the last week of August and with everyone going back to school, it was not very crowded. The dumpling dinner was ok but we had had so many good dinner so far this was just ok. I can't say enough about Mary as I thought she was the perfect guide and we really enjoyed discussing our different cultures with her, I would recommend requesting her! The trip home was a little better with more comfortable seats and Mary took us through security and got us to our departure as well. The driver and another guide picked us back up in Beijing and we were wiped out at our midnight arrival they were as accommodating as could be. THis is a great tour and would be 5 star with those minor tweaks
Wonderful trip! Our tour guide Jessica spoke fluent English and gave us a wonderful explanation about the beautiful city of Xian. The terracotta warriors were an eye opener and definitely worth the trip from Beijing to see. We were pleasantly surprised to find them placed in such a comfortable museum environment for viewing. The dumpling banquet was definitely interesting, even as a Chinese, I have never tried so many dumpling varieties before. The accompanying Tang dynasty performance was an optional tour, their lavish dance costumes were beautiful to behold . We did not regret attending it. It was very convenient that our hotel was arranged for. The quality of the hotel was alright for a one night's stay. The van was clean and comfortable and we were the only group. The only hitch was that our bullet train from Beijing to Xian was delayed by 2 hours I was told this was a first time but we just missed out on the Jade factory trip which we did not mind very much.
