Stop At: Baalbek Roman Ruins, Baalbeck Lebanon

The sun city, the Heliopolis or the Phoenician city are three appellations for Baalback, the city of mysterious ruins of the Roman empire. Located 85 km away from Beirut, Baalback is rich with imperial exquisite architecture and giant temples. Venus, Bacchus and Jupiter were constructed between the first and third centuries A.D. Baalback gained the UNESCO World Heritage status in 1984

It is believed that the Roman built the temples to worship their Gods and Goddesses.

Stop At: Temples of Baalbek, Baalbeck Lebanon

Venus temple was built in the 3rd century in a highly original design, built on a horseshoe shaped platform and consist of circular shrine with a square entrance.

Bacchus temple was constructed between 150 A.D and 250 A.D it is known as the god of wine, grape harvest and fertility it is also the largest Roman temple. Bacchus is an outstanding archeological site of imperial Roman architecture.

Jupiter is a colossal Roman temple and the largest of the Roman world, situated at the end of the Great Court of Roman Heliopolis. The original construction time and method remain till now a mystery.

Stop At: The Cedars of God, Bcharre Lebanon

It is believed that cedar wood was exploited in the past by the Phoenicians to build their ships, and the Egyptian to make paper and many more for many centuries. The cedar tree symbolizes resilience, immortality and elevation and was stated a UNESCO World Heritage.

The presence and the position of the cedars in the middle of the flag are inspired by the mountains of Lebanon cedar.

Nowadays the cedar forest is vigorously protected and open for visits.

Stop At: Chateau Ksara, Ksara, Zahle Lebanon

Lebanon is known to produce to the world one of the best dry red wine ever.

Having more than 155 years of winemaking history, Ksara is known to be the oldest winery in Lebanon. It served during the 1st world war as a refuge for the young Lebanese men who didn’t want to enroll to the Ottoman army. Built during the Roman era, then covered by sand for centuries, the caves were found by mistake in 1898 by the Jesuites who were searching for wolves that was eating their chickens.

A tasting of the best wine is available during the visit of Chateau Ksara.
