Qadisha valley or the Holy valley classified a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1998, is a gorge that lies between Bcharri and Zgharta district. The valley is also sculpted by a long river that reaches Tripoli.

Some of the magnificent monasteries have been restored and the others remain the same, creating a more genuine background for people seeking such experience. St Antony Kozhaya and Mar Licha’a are monasteries located at the heart of the valley along with many other religious sites worth the visit and the discovery.

Stop At: The Cedars of God, Bcharre Lebanon

Being the last vestiges of the extensive forest of the Lebanon cedar, the cedars of god stand high (2000m) and proud at age more than 1500 years in a giant one of a kind forest located in Bcharre.

It is believed that cedar wood was exploited in the past by the Phoenicians to build their ships, and the Egyptian to make paper and many more for many centuries. The cedar tree symbolizes resilience, immortality and elevation and was stated a UNESCO World Heritage.

The presence and the position of the cedars in the middle of the flag are inspired by the mountains of Lebanon cedar.

Nowadays the cedar forest is vigorously protected and open for visits.

The sun city, the Heliopolis or the Phoenician city are three appellations for Baalback, the city of mysterious ruins of the Roman empire. Located 85 km away from Beirut, Baalback is rich with imperial exquisite architecture and giant temples. Venus, Bacchus and Jupiter were constructed between the first and third centuries A.D. Baalback gained the UNESCO World Heritage status in 1984

It is believed that the Roman built the temples to worship their Gods and Goddesses.

Venus temple was built in the 3rd century in a highly original design, built on a horseshoe shaped platform and consist of circular shrine with a square entrance.

Bacchus temple was constructed between 150 A.D and 250 A.D it is known as the god of wine, grape harvest and fertility it is also the largest Roman temple. Bacchus is an outstanding archeological site of imperial Roman architecture.

Jupiter is a colossal Roman temple and the largest of the Roman world, situated at the end of the Great Court of Roman Heliopolis. The original construction time and method remain till now a mystery.
