About this activity
The tour begins at the Vračar Plateau, where you will see one of the most important sights of Belgrade: Saint Sava Temple - one of the biggest orthodox temples on the Balkans, and so-called small Saint Sava Church with the bronzed monument dedicated to Saint Sava, the first Serbian archbishop in front of it. You will see the bronzed monument dedicated to Karađorđe Petrović, the leader of the First Serbian Uprising right here in from of the Temple and the National Serbian Library.

The tour continues to Slavija Square, one of the biggest squares of Belgrade and the crossroad of 7 streets that used to be a... swamp. One of this streets is King Milan Street with Yugoslavian Drama Theater founded in 1947. Across the road, recently reconstructed Flower Square, former Flower market, hosts numerous authentic Belgrade cafes.

Towards the center, pass by famous 'Beograđanka', the first capital's skyscraper that used to be the biggest department store on the Balkans. Via Resavska Street you get to St. Mark Church in Serbian- Byzantine style famous as the shelterof the ashes of Tsar Dušan, the greatest Serbian ruler.

Near by the Serbian Parliament is located, across which the Old and New Palace are situated. Old Palace, modern City Parliament, used to be King Milan Obrenović’s residency whilst the New Palace, former King Petar I Karađorđević’s residency, is now the residency of Serbian President.

Go down to Terazije Square, famous for the Hotel Triangle and rich social life, that is said be the most beautiful square of Belgrade, all thanks to a number of reconstructions.

Afterwards arrive at lively Republic Square with the Prince Mihail Monument in the center. Here two most important cultural artistic institutions, the National Theater and National Museum, are located. Walk via Knez Mihailo Street, main walking and shopping zone, on the way to Kalemegdan, and visit the the Cathedral Church of St. Michael the Archangel with the tombs of Serbian greatest minds.

Kalemegdan, the most important cultural-historic complex of the capital, will be the last point of the tour. Belgrade Fortress, the witness of the great history of this ancient city, is raising proudly in the Kalemegdan park over the confluence of rivers Sava and Danube.
