Jan Nemček, a violin maker, lives and works in Kovačica and owes his skills to his uncle Đura who was self-taught. Violins made by Jan Nemček from the village Kovačica (Vojvodina, Serbia) have a special sound. Several experts have tried to fathom what's the secret, but it all ended on trying. The Stradivari from Kovačica, as the people from the world of music call him, thinks there is no secret. Everything is in the wood, the love for the job and willingness to wander through the woods for months in search for a tree that has a soul.
