8AM- Tour commences from Lalbagh main gate. 

We start the walk in the 240 acre Lalbagh Botanical Garden with more than 1,800 species of plants, shrubs and trees serve as the lungs of Bangalore. Built by Tipu Sultan’s father, the legendary Hyder Ali in 1760, Lalbagh Botanical Garden is a prominent landmark of Bangalore and is host to the world famous flower show making it a key destination among places to visit in Bangalore. Lalbagh Botanical Garden is not only a horticulturist’s paradise, but it also provides a respite to people of Bangalore from the ever-spreading concrete jungle.

We will have a sumptuous breakfast at arguably the most famous restaurant in Bangalore, the legendary Mavalli Tiffin Rooms or popularly known as MTR.

930 AM- On the way to Tipu’s Summer Palace, we will stop at the 200-year-old armory. This is where Tipu used to store his weapons for this many battles with the British.

The Summer Palace of Tipu is a fascinating structure with teak pillars and frescoes. The Palace captures key milestones in Tipu’s life including his early life, economic and social reforms undertaken by him, his victories and eventual defeat as well.

1030 AM- We visit the magnificent Kote Venkataraman Temple. Built in the 17th century this temple follows an architectural style which is a fusion of Dravidian and Vijayanagar elements. This temple provided the setting for the treasure hunt in the book Riddle of the Seventh Stone.

11 AM- Our walk brings us to the Bangalore Fort. Built-in 1537 by Kempe Gowda the founder of Bangalore as a mud fort, it was reinforced with stone by Tipu’s father Hyder Ali in 1761. We will talk about how the fort played a role in the Anglo Mysore wars between Tipu and the British forces led by the legendary Lord Cornwallis.

1130 AM- We walk to KR market one of the busiest and most famous markets in Bangalore. The bustling market is a riot of colors and acts as a nerve center for small traders and shop owners.

12PM- Our walk ends in the KR Market.
