About this activity
The Indian independence movement grew in Ahmedabad rapidly when Mahatma Gandhi established a Satyagraha Ashram on the banks of the Sabarmati River in the year of 1917. The ashram became the centre of nationalist activities, opposition and a symbol of peace in the later years. It was from here that Gandhi launched the famous Dandi March to kick off the Civil Disobedience Movement.

The ashram was his residence until 1930 and later came to be known as Sabarmati Ashram. His living quarters are preserved as a small museum and a pictorial record displays the major events of his life.

This experience will be conducted by a subject expert who will keep you engaged with interesting stories about Gandhi’s life and his time spent in the city.
