Private Equestrian Safari Day Trip from Jaipur

1 day
About this activity
Take a trip to a place that makes you forget the fast moving pace of the city. The village of Boraj in the district of Jaipur stands untouched by the fast moving urbanization of the country that turns places into a concrete world. Take a day off and visit Boraj, and explore the village on horseback.

The journey starts at 6am in the morning from the Statue circle in Jaipur. Being within stone's throw from Jaipur, it takes only a short while to reach Boraj. Enjoy the views over a cup of fresh tea, as the sun brightens the sky revealing the magnificent vista around you. After such a refreshing booster in the morning, by 8am, you will go for a ride on a 4x4 jeep to the stud farm. On reaching there is when your trip starts as you are briefed on the ride and the route by your ride captain. You will be riding the famous Marwari horses which is said to have been bred by the Rathore clan in the Medieval period. Legend says that these horses are known to never accept defeat, they exit a battlefield either victorious or dead or carrying their wounded soldier out of the battlefield. You will first trot to the village to the Hanuman temple to reach there by 8:30am for the morning offerings. It is touching to see the divinity and worship that is evident on the faces of the villagers as they rush to give their offerings and seek blessings from the Lord.

From the temple, you will ride to the village farmlands leading your horses to a canter via the sandy pathways. Let your horse quench its thirst whilst you taste the juicy fruits picked from the fields. Trot along to the Imperial farms where the royal family of Boraj welcomes you with open arms and sumptuous food. You can listen to the enigmatic tales and the local folklore as they are set to serve you and you can enjoy a delicious meal of the local cuisine on the poolside. Learn more about the village, its traditions and culture from the hosts who are just more than eager to share.

After a high tea, including the traditional Indian masala chai in from the royal gardens, you will ride back to the stud farm in the pink city. With new experiences and new information you can return back home with more stories to relate to friends and family.
