About this activity
Discover the vibrant traditional heart of Bangalore that still beats inside the heart of the city, which at present is a thriving, modern, cosmopolitan capital of the state. This tour will unfold the ancient glory of the city, and let you learn fascinating stories of the past and understand the city like a true Bangalorean.

Get picked up from the hotel and drive to St. Mark’s Cathedral, start off your Bangalore walking tour from here. The Cathedral was built in the early 1800s and later rebuilt in the early 90s. The architecture is modeled on the lines of the St. Paul’s Cathedral, London, with ornate and elaborate work, reminiscent every bit of Bangalore’s colonial era.

The walking tour will lead you towards the Government Museum, en route, passing the statues of Mahatma Gandhi and Queen Victoria. The museum was established in 1865 and is counted among one of the oldest museums in India. It is an archaeological museum exhibiting rare and amazing collection of ancient coins, art and relics. From there move on to the famous Cubbon Park, a landmark location and a green heaven in the heart of the city that gave Bangalore the nickname of the “Garden City”.

We will now pass by the gigantic red-coloured building of the High Court of Bangalore, and finally the imposing Vidhana Soudha with striking Neo-Dravdian architecture. It houses the state secretariat and legislature buildings, and showcases the architecture and culture of India.

In between the tour, also get indulged in the city’s appetizing cuisine for breakfast. Bangalore food is one of its kind, appetizing! Taste two of the Bangalore’s most beloved dishes - dosai (fermented rice and lentil pancake; similar in appearance to a crepe) and idly vada (a steamed rice cake). In between bites, also listen to your guide giving insights into the food culture of the city.

Wrap up your tour, and get transferred to your hotel.
