Pick up in Sarlat. After the visit of the pretty village of St Léon sur Vézère, reach La Roque St Christophe, the largest troglodytique cliff in Europe, inhabited by men from Prehistoric times to the Renaissance. You will discover the traces left by our ancestors and a collection of machinery recontructed in honour of the great medieval builders.
After the visit, arrive in Les Eyzies for a short stop at the International Center for Prehistory. End your day with a visit of the mighty castle of Castelnaud. Built on a rocky outcrop in the heart of the Périgord Noir, the Château de Castelnaud offers a magnificent panoramic view over the Dordogne Valley. Founded in the 12th century, it is a perfect example of a medieval fortress. Return to Sarlat.
