Stars To Go - Gerlinde Jänicke - Berlin Tour with a celebrity

Gerlinde is one of the most famous female radio voices in Berlin and Brandenburg – likeable, quick-witted and self-confident! Just lately she won „Best Radio Host“ at the German Radio Awards. 

She hosts the 94,3 rs2 - morning show „Gerlinde Jänicke and frriends“ Monday ´til Friday from 5 am until 10 am. Her permanent companion is her dog „Miley“, who became the official 94,3 rs2 studio dog and belongs to the team. 

Gerlinde loves to go out and likes to be surprised from people, ideas and from her favorite city - her hometown: Berlin.

The tour:

• First we pick up Gerlinde from work. She takes you around the radio station 94,3 rs2 which is located at „Das Schloß“ in Steglitz und she will tell you all about the procedure of her radio show.

• You will track Gerlinde’s passion: chocolates, pastry and cakes. We drive to one of Berlin’s most traditional confectionary and pastry shops. „Konditorei Rabin“ used to be located in Potsdam during the empire and was purveyor to the court. After World War II, shortly before the Berlin Wall was built, it moved to the west part of Berlin to Steglitz. World famous for its „Baumkuchen“ (cylindrical layers cake) which is shipped worldwide. EVERYTHING is self manufactured: delicious cream cakes and confection. We may be lucky and the owners Johannes and Klaus Rabin, father and son, let us have a glimpse at the „Baumkuchen“ manufacture. 

• Gerlinde is a child of the former American sector of Berlin. Her grandfather came to Berlin Zehlendorf with the army during occupation. Being a German-American with American roots from the mother side, she knows countless stories of the time when the Americans were based in Zehlendorf. The Allied Museum and personal spots where Gerlinde grew up will be our next stops.

• In Gerlinde’s Qiez column „Secret tips by Gerlinde“ she shows her newest culinary discoveries. Where to she will invite you for dinner will be a spontaneous decision depending on her personal actual hot spot.
