About this activity
Whether you're already in Hebron or you arrive by car, bus, or service (shared taxi), we will arrange to pick you up at a time and location of your convenience and bring you to our center, where we start our walking tour with an introduction to the history and current situation in Hebron (45 mins-1 hour). Then we head off to visit some local centers, including a recreational center and a youth organization, and continue our journey to Al-Shuhada Street to see the Israeli controlled area H2 (1-1.5 hour). Crossing into the Palestinian controlled area H1 to see the bustling New City of Hebron and wander through the souq and alleys of the Old City, you'll have the opportunity to speak to Palestinian shopkeepers and families, shop, eat the local delicacies, and visit a traditional glass factory and sesame press (1 hour). We end our tour with a visit to a ceramic factory and the burial site of Abraham and Sarah, Isaac and Rebecca, and Jacob and Leah, where you can enter and visit both the Palestinian side (the Ibrahimi Mosque) and the Israeli side (the Cave of the Machpelah) (30-45 mins).
Our tour provides a historical and cultural overview of Hebron, and an insight into the reality of life here. We invite to you to learn more about Palestine in general and Hebron in particular, with the guidance of an experienced and qualified local guide who is eager to share his knowledge and answer any questions you may have. We specialize in small, intimate tours catered to each group's interests, so each walking tour is unique and ranges between 3-5 hours. Whether you're flying solo or with a group, we invite you to come discover Hebron with us!
We can also arrange to visit a local refugee camp by request.
*Please note that the above itinerary order is subject to change depending on guest arrival location.
