Full-Day Triglav National Park Tour from Ljubljana

1 day
Full Day
About this activity
Your first stop driving from Ljubljana will be Bled, a town considered to be the Alpine pearl to have a 15-minute glimpse of the beautiful Lake Bled drenched in the morning sun before you head forward to Bohinjska Bistrica. You continue your journey with one of a kind panoramic ride by motorail to Most na Soči (Eng. Bridge over the Soča River). Once you reach the Triglav National Park, you will explore the beautiful Tolmin Gorges, carved into limestone by river Tolminka. Next, you will be heading to Soča river also called the "Emerald Beauty" where you can experience white water rafting guided by the best professionals or explore the nearby town of Kobarid. Next, the Kozjak Bridge, one of the wooden bridges above the Emerald river, will lead you on the path to Kozjak waterfall, which is hidden inside a cave. A quick jump in the water is very tempting, so bring an extra pair of swimsuits!

You make a short stop on the Napoleon bridge to take a moment to admire Boka waterfall, one of the most fluid and majestic waterfalls in our country. Next up is a 15-minute hike to the stunning spring of Soča river. Your way continues over Vršič (1,611 m), the highest mountain pass in Slovenia, which provides us with a stunning panoramic view of the Slovenian landscape. Few hundred meters down the valley, we make a stop to see the natural rock formation in a shape of a face of the Pagan girl (Slov. Ajdovska deklica) and pay a short visit to the Russian chapel which was build by Russian prisoners to honor the memory of those who died and to serve as a reminder of the follies of war. Your journey finishes at the Lake Jasna, guarded by the mighty Goldenhorn statue. You arrive back to Ljubljana in the evening hours around 7.00pm to 8.00pm.

Our guide, Mia, was extremely friendly! She arrived at the pickup location promptly and made us all feel like she'd been our friend forever. She was passionate about nature and hiking, and took care of our needs. The tour itself was spectacular! The views and nature of Triglav National Park are really amazing. My favorite part of the trip was getting out and hiking, but particularly when we got to swim in a gorgeous river under the swinging bridge. (This was a last-minute decision made by the group, not on every tour). The whole day was so relaxed and I felt happy to have experienced nature from both the car and on foot. There was one part of the journey that was a bit scary, though. We hiked up to the source of a river where we had to hold onto the wire connected to the side of the hill. It had rained and it was slippery, as well, which added to the drama. At the end, I felt good that I survived it, but during the 20 minutes it was really scary to me. This part was optional, but I honestly didn't realize what it was going to be like when we first set out to do it. So I recommend you bring decent shoes and a brave spirit! :) Overall, a fantastic tour!!

We did the Full-Day Triglav National Park Tour from Ljubljana on our first day and it was the best day of our entire visit to Slovenia! The nature around the Tolmin gorges is spectacular, as are the mountains. Definitely a must-see. Our guide, Jaka, did a great job. He was very friendly and considerate and shared a lot of interesting information about the country and the region, so after our first day in Slovenia we felt that we had already learned a lot. I can´t think of anything that could be changed or done better. A fantastic trip with great value for money. I recommend it to everybody who is at all interested in nature, you won´t be disappointed!

Thank you to our guide Maja. She was very professional despite the long duration of the tour. The scenery was fantastic and we really enjoyed ourselves. We were a group of 8 and got along very well. That made a difference.

Marvellous tour except that we reached the end of the day in the dark without being able to explore the last stop. We could not see anything. I advise to pack our lunch. Pick up a lunch box not to waist time and be able to see the last stop.
