About this activity
After a pickup from the hotel in the early morning hours, you will head to the city of Denizli along the Taurus mountain chain. On your way, you will stop for breakfast (at own expense) in a local restaurant.

After arriving at your final destination, you will begin a sightseeing tour of the ruins of ancient city of Hierapolis. Hierapolis was a health resort during Roman times, from which Roman baths, a basilica, a gymnasium, and a “column” street are preserved. There's also a beautifully-renovated theatre on the hill above the city. You'll also be given some free time by your guide, a period when it's worth visiting the ancient Hierapolis Necropolis, home to over 1,000 ancient sarcophaguses.

After Hierapolis, head to Pamukkale an ancient hot springs bathing site recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will be able to immerse yourself in the springs' thermal water of 35 degrees celsius (95 fahrenheit) flooding down the travertines. It's a great massage and relief for anyone with tired feet. If you want to try the classic treatment of Pamukkale, plan to take a bubble bath in the Cleopatra pool (own expense). The springs' restorative waters are suggested to help with illnesses and problems such as obesity, rheumatism, asthma and skin diseases. But most importantly, it gives guests skin a fresh, young look. They say that, that Pamukkale was a secret part of the beauty regimen for the famous Queen Cleopatra.

After sightseeing and bathing, it will be time to recharge your batteries with delicious lunch buffet plus time for shopping in a leather goods center in operation for many centuries. Don’t forget about the tradition of bargaining before you settle on a price. Your trip back will again lead you through the Taurus mountains with one final stop. Then you will be dropped back at your hotel. The ride to Pamukkale takes around 4.5 hours.

My friend and I completed this tour in May during our stay in Bodrum. It was a very long day and not the value for money as our Gallipoli Tour was...the guide on the bus spent most of the journey to Pamukkale sleeping. A very early start for a 4 hour plus journey to Pamukkale arriving about noon (30min stop for breakfast which was an extra cost) we were given 2.5 hrs to walk around (no guide) and received lunch at 3pm (included in tour price) the stop on the way back to Bodrum was at a service station...no service and no meal. Pamukkale was not visitor friendly very commercial ...to swim was an extra cost. Certainly not value for money.
