Itinerary

Your day begins with an early morning pickup from your Bogota hotel around 4.30am. Traveling by private vehicle, set out to explore one of the paramos (alpine tundra ecosystems) around Bogota, admiring the wild scenery as you wind through the Colombian Andes.

Accompanied by an expert guide, you’ll visit either Sumapaz, Chingaza, Tablazo y Verjón, or Cruz Verde (only one páramo will be visited on the tour), depending on the season and your personal preferences, where you’ll have the chance to spot an incredible variety of birds. After tucking into a light breakfast (included) on arrival, follow your guide along the bird-watching trails, looking out for buzzards, thistletails, tanager, and many other species. If you’re lucky, you might even spot endemic species such as Apolinar’s Wren and Green-bearded Helmetcrest.
